Hi, I'm Rebecca,
A theatre artist, marketing professional, and community engagement coordinator.
My passion lies at the intersection of arts administration and community engagement. Currently, I serve as Assistant Manager of Producing and Production at The Bushnell in Hartford, CT, where I lead projects through planning/budgeting stages, and serve as an on-site production manager. I'm also contributing to the production and development of The Bushnell Digital Arts program, coordinating the launch of several digital initiatives at both The Bushnell and The Warner Theatre in Torrington.
Outside of The Bushnell, I am a frequent collaborator in the Greater Hartford arts sphere, currently serving a 3-year term on The Hartford Stage young professionals board. There, I assist in non-profit advocacy and accessibility.
My theatrical background spans assistant directing, production management, and dramaturgy. I've assistant directed under Artistic Director Melia Bensussen at Hartford Stage and Cristina Angeles at TheaterWorks Hartford. Previously, as Front of House Operations and Audience Services Manager at the University of Hartford, I leveraged my MBA to grow department revenue by ~$10K and increase performance attendance by 23% in a single year through patron data analysis and targeted marketing.
My dramaturgical research on Oedipus the King earned an LMDA/Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival Honorable Mention in 2023, and my research "Puppetry as Parody: The Muppets as Remediation and Social Commentary" was selected for presentation at several research and arts conferences.
Beyond the stage, I've spent years producing independent films and collaborating with local artists, including creating the feature Spring Cling, which screened in Mystic, CT and is available on YouTube.
When I'm not in production mode, you'll find me watching various Muppets movies and meticulously planning my outfits for the week.
